THE MARBACH FAMILY
The Marbach family can be traced back to Breisach am Rhein, a small village in Germany. Josef Marbach and his wife Maria Augusta and children sailed to America and settled in Texas in the 1870s. The Marbach Family has been Ranching and Farming Texas soil ever since. Josef Marbach was survived by his six children; one was named Josef Eugen Marbach.
THE NEW WORLD
TEXAS
Josef Eugen Marbach settled the family in Macdona, Texas, in Bexar County in the late 1800s. Josef Eugen Marbach and his wife Emma Zeinert had a modest vegetable farm and raised cattle in Bexar county. Josef Eugen Marbach and his wife Emma had seven children, and the third oldest was named Rudolph Joseph Marbach.
Rudolph Joseph Marbach was born on May 30, 1900, in Texas, his father, Joseph, was 32, and his mother, Emma, was 27. Rudolph Joseph Marbach married a beautiful woman named Pauline Bendele; they raised three children together.
Rudolph Joseph Marbach joined the United States Military during World War I in 1917; he later answered the call to service again during World War two in 1940. After World War II, Rudolph Joseph Marbach returned to his wife and children, Rudolph Jr., Paul, and daughter Lucille. Rudolph Joseph Marbach died on September 23, 1979, in Hamilton, Texas, at the age of 79 and was buried in Cranfills Gap, Texas.
Paul William Marbach was born on November 29, 1931, in Devine, Texas. Paul was raised in Devine, Texas, and attended Devine High School. Paul soon married the love of his life, Marjorie Louise Knappick, on September 1, 1953. Paul William Marbach was many things having, served in the US military, home builder, farmer, and rancher.
In the latter half of his life, Paul William Marbach owned a few hundred acre farm and ranch in Devine. Paul served on the Medina Water Board Commission, where he served local farmers and ranchers to build an irrigation system to provide water to the surrounding areas. Paul Marbach grew a beautiful fruit orchard and, like his father before him and his father, Paul Marbach raised and tended to a beautiful herd of Angus cattle. Paul loved spending time with his family outdoors, and he loved fresh fruit and ice cream. Paul Marbach is survived by his lovely wife and now great grandmother Marjorie Marbach and children.
Paul’s children have continued to practice lessons that were taught to them; "Everything good comes from the ground, so the land is to be worked and cherished for the fruit that it bears". The current generations of the Marbach family continue the legacy that was passed down to them for generations. The Marbach family continues to farm & ranch and care for the land; they provide food and friendship to their neighbors and the families of Texas.
