With over 150 years in the Texas ranching business, we've seen changes. Some are good, most terrible.
In this story, the rancher and the consumer pay a heavy burden.
Marbach Ranch and every other rancher we know wants to raise the best quality beef they can produce. Pride in your work is part and parcel of ranching life.
The food industry as it currently works, does not share the same values as these ranchers. The simple truth is for most brands that you buy beef from only care about one thing, margins.
From supermarkets to chain restaurants, cost it the highest calling. As you might guess, "best quality" and "lowest price" are never in the same sentence. So the industry has created "tricks".

We own our feed yards, where our cattle are monitored with daily health checks, have fresh water 24 hours a day, and twice a day are fed with our in-house nutrition systems, prepared by our staff veterinary nutritionists, under our own strict methods for the calmest and most humane conditions.
A quick word on "Grass Fed Grass Finished". Like Grass Fed Grain Finished its also great product that's finding traction with more and more consumers as they come to understand the practices of "Big Food" discussed above. Since we control the entire process, including growing our grains, we know the exact makeup and strict quality
We are working on a longer-term project to bring this product to our customers in addition to our current product. There are lot of lessons to learn before we sell anything with our family name on it.
